The first snow of 2022 fell on the Ejine banner in the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia on Monday during the Laba Festival, also known as the Primity Festival of rice.
Located in the western part of the region, Ejine Banner has a population of 35,000 that extends to more than 110,000 square kilometers. It also has one of China's largest natural forestry reserves of Odos Alamos (Populus Euphratica): members of the Sauce family. The other concentration of the species is in the autonomous region Xinjiang Uygur.
